LMG maritime to design and launch the first ever cruise ship which will use the LNG fuel in Mediterranean Sea

What is LMG 290 DEG Design

The LMG 290-DEG design ferry or small cruise is not that small but it has a board size of 133 meters long and 21.5 meters broad, may have capacity for 290 cars on two automobile decks, and 1500 passengers. The propulsion can be centralised and controlled through a fuel-electric system making use of 3 dual-fuel engines. The vessel is being constructed by Sefine Shipyard in Turkey. The vessel will also be carrying cargo from UK to Pakistan.

When will it be launched?

The all new LNG powered cruise will be delivered in 2018. The LMG 290-DEG design will be the first cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea to operate on LNG fuel ever which is a milestone for the operator says officials at LMG Marin.

The cruise ship has been developed in close dialogue with the ship owner with the intention to lodge their challenging functions and operational necessities even as meeting a strict low fuel consumption goal.

She is unique and exclusively optimised to operate throughout the Strait of Messina between Villa San Giovanni and Messina in Sicily, which is an area vulnerable to very extreme existent.

Because of her ECU classification, type B certificates, she will also be able to operate on extra open routes comparable to the Aeolian Islands. New Maritime security Operation in the Mediterranean
