Singapore Air Cargo Business earned record growth in first nine months of 2016

The Singapore’s Changi airport has recorded the best cargo performance as compared to the last five years counting the growth in perishables and pharmaceuticals. The first nine months of the year 2016 are the most progressive ones and the figures led the Changi Airport towards massive growth.

Pharma Handling Standards

On the other hand, the Airport’s VP said that they had been working with their partners to find how they could lift their local pharma handling standards. The improvement in pharma traffic showed that the traffic from the down to greater growth is due to the sheer focus on this sector. They are also strongly planning to increase their business in South Asia, especially cargo to Pakistan.

The Future Plans to Increase Air Cargo Growth

Changi Air Cargo plans are very bright for future. They are aiming to develop Air Express service and to grow cargo business as part of Changi East’s development. Pharma Aero Organization to Lift Air Cargo

Changi Airport Air Cargo business has also joined the Pharma Aero Organization that aims to improve pharma handling by carrying all the elements of the supply chain which also includes the shippers like Pakistan Cargo 4 U. Their intention is to develop the best practices and share the market knowing and expertise.

What did Changi VP Said? 

The Vice President of Singapore’s Changi Airport is very much pleased on the unexpected performance and growth of the cargo and logistics departments of Air Cargo. Phau Hui Hoon, the VP, said that within the first nine months, from January to September, the air cargo demand had increased by 5.5% year on year to 1.44m tonnes.

According to the growing figures, the VP said that the pharmaceutical traffic was increased by 19% year on year in the first nine months whereas the perishable segment was grown t0 11% in the same timeframe.
