Pakistan International Airlines honours Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) to handle PIA cargo

The Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will handle all the trucking and controlling activities of cargo from Pakistan International Airlines in the UK. It has been announced by the Airline officials that Pakistan International has awarded the WFS a three year contract which is further extendable to provide cargo handling services to the airline on the three major airports in the UK. These airports include London Heathrow airport, Manchester International Airport and Birmingham Airport.

What Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will do?

The Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will handle all the exports and imports cargo to Pakistan and from Islamabad to UK. It will help in connecting customers in Karachi with London and in Lahore with Manchester and Birmingham.

Pakistan International has ten flights to Heathrow airport every week and all the on-board cargo will be managed by the Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) at the world cargo centre building 551 at the airport. At the Manchester and Birmingham airports, the Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will also handle the cargo as these two airports have 14 weekly flights from Islamabad and Lahore.

What Operations director says?

The operations director for the UK and the Ireland, Cliff McKrell has said that Pakistan International Airlines is one of the valued airlines coming from South Asia to the UK. It is one of the busiest airlines and they have valued the WFS as a single cargo handler at all their destinations in the UK and Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will be able to offer Pakistan International trucking services to their remote destinations in the UK.

With close relationship with Pakistan International Airlines as GSA partner in the UK, the Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will avail this opportunity to increase the potential to collect cargo from the UK to Pakistan. The Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will help the airline to collect more cargo for the PIA flights.
